Here are some considerations for you while seeking a VoIP vendor:
· Experience
While VoIP is not as mature of a technology as the more traditional digital telephones as far as the calendar is concerned, it is a rapidly evolving technology that every business on the planet will soon be embracing. As such, many digital system providers are now adapting their knowledge to VoIP. While these providers are excellent in their areas of expertise let’s face facts – VoIP requires IP NETWORK experience. In many cases (but not all) a VoIP phone system installation with computer and application integration will see the best results when certified network engineers are called upon to perform that installation.

There are now many, many VoIP integrators on the market as there is tremendous opportunity in this field. But how do you know that a company that started business in January and performs your installation in April will still be in business in December? Select a company with a proven track record and verifiable references.
· Communication
VoIP installations typically require much more than just the phone system and the phones. Network considerations must be taken into account as these phone systems will share the same network infrastructure as your data network. Are your switches up to the task?
